MATE Terminal is the terminal emulator for the MATE desktop. It provides the terminal window layer around the VTE widget.

It includes the desktop-facing parts such as the menubar, preferences dialog, profiles, session handling, windows, tabs, and command line options. The core terminal emulation itself comes from VTE.
