Terminator is a Linux terminal emulator that puts multiple GNOME terminals in one window.

It focuses on split panes, tabs, and terminal grouping, so you can arrange shells, switch between them quickly, and broadcast input to more than one terminal when needed.

This terminal can be used for those managing SSH sessions, logs, builds, or several command line tasks at once.

How to install Terminator

Install Terminator from your distribution package repository first. The project recommends using your OS package system, and the package is commonly named terminator.

For Ubuntu 20.04 and later, the upstream install guide lists a PPA with installation instructions that end with sudo apt install terminator.
