Terminal Sky and Space Trackers

Some things worth watching are not on your machine. Aircraft broadcast their position continuously over ADS-B, satellites follow orbits that can be predicted days ahead, and the sky above you changes on a schedule that has been known for centuries.

 

The tools here pull that data into the terminal and draw it: live aircraft near a receiver, satellite passes and orbital elements, star charts for a given time and place, the phase of the moon, the planets in their current positions.

 

What belongs here is tracking something outside the machine in real time or on a predictable schedule. Weather has its own shelf, and tools that merely render an image belong under image tools.
