kudu is a TUI for creating and managing QEMU virtual machines without relying directly on libvirt.
It can internally build VMs for architectures such as x86_64, AArch64 or RISC-V and it can set that as the target CPU before running the VM. This tool can configure the memory of the machine and adds additional hard disks as the boot volume. Once that is set up, kudu boots the VM and can enable VNC remote access to the system.
If you frequently spin up test machines often, it has quick actions such as start, pause, resume, shutdown, edit and delete controls over the VM lifecycle. It also handles multiple networking options including port forwarding and has advanced creation modes.
Linux developers, system administrators and DevOps users who frequently run VMs on their machines and deal with OS virtualization will find kudu useful to manage local VMs without leaving the terminal or as an alternative to Gnome Boxes or virt-manager.
