ffdash is a terminal dashboard that uses ffmpeg under the hood to batch-encode AV1 and VP9 videos with active job queues inside of the terminal.
It can run parallel workers in a job queue and shows the sizes of each file that is about to be processed with the estimated time of completion. The dashboard itself also shows the CPU, RAM and average system load information in the graph above the queue with the succeeded or failed conversions.
You can tune ffdash to encode with specific settings including the file type container, FPS, resolution, codec and bitrate information. It can also create profiles that use pre-defined saved settings and supports a dry-run mode to preview the exact ffmpeg commands before you run them. The encoding process is hardware accelerated and makes use of the machine's GPU which supports VA-API (Intel/AMD) and NVENC (NVIDIA) to do this.
Heavy technical media users, machine learning engineers or technical video engineers who frequently convert videos into different formats may find ffdash useful for managing large videos on high performance servers and also converting them remotely over SSH without remembering the exact ffmpeg commands.
