herald is a TUI email and calendar tool for composing, reading, searching and cleaning up your email inbox.
It supports IMAP, SMTP, major email providers like Gmail, ProtonMail, Fastmail, iCloud and Outlook, along with Google Calendar and CalDAV for calendar integration. With herald, you can make drafts, replies, forward email, open split or full-screen previews, use mouse navigation and cleanup your inbox in bulk while also doing a dry run first.
Other than having a mail and calendar view, herald also has a local SQLite cache, inline terminal images, notifications (macOS only), themes, and an SSH and MCP server built in. Optionally, herald supports local-first AI models to perform semantic searching, chat, email classification and you can even generate quick replies and suggestions.
Use herald if you have multiple emails from different providers and if you want to manage both your inbox and calendar events in the terminal.
