Beautiful maps, weather, radar, tides, moon and sun position in your terminal.

linecast is a TUI for checking weather, sunlight, tides, radar, moon data and maps of any country and displaying them in the terminal.

It uses free public data and has six live, mouse-friendly terminal visualisations. A weather dashboard, a solar arc, a shaded lunar disc, sunlight-shaded tide curves, and an animated radar with satellite imagery all in braille and in true color.

By default, it uses an IP address to determine your location, but this can be set to any other place, name or coordinates and it can display official weather alerts across 36 countries. While it can display maps as vectors, it can also display terrain, bathymetry, place search, and with directions shown on the map. This tool supports changing themes, has mouse support (dragging and scrolling) and has keyboard controls.

linecast works best for developers, travellers and terminal users who check the weather before heading out. It is useful if you want to display multiple weather modes in a multiplexer, need to check moon phases, tides, sunlight information, or if you're curious about weather changes in other countries in the terminal.
