watchtower is a TUI dashboard for following global news in the terminal.
It collects headlines from news sources via RSS with support for Global News with threat classification, financial market prices and local weather news. It keeps stories from the past 24 hours and removes duplicate titles. Stories are sorted by keyword threat level and publication time.
This tool can optionally summarise leading headlines using an AI model, can list potential threats and generates country risk scores using a hosted provider or local language model. The feeds refresh automatically, and you can also refresh them manually or open the original articles in your browser.
watchtower is useful for those who want to keep up with world news with the added context of understanding country risk, weather, key threats, predictions and global news articles everyday in the terminal.
