edamame is a terminal Markdown editor that keeps documents formatted during inline editing.

The editor renders headings, lists and table grids as you navigate. The cursor's line shows Markdown source text, and the line returns to its rendered form after the cursor moves away from the content. Tables support cell navigation, row editing and mouse resizing.

External file changes open a diff review for accepting or rejecting individual hunks. The editor also can render images inline, mermaid diagrams and mathematical expressions that appear on terminals with compatible graphics support such as Kitty and iTerm2 Imaging Protocol. You can also exports documents as HTML and search and replace with optional Vim controls provide additional editing methods.

edamame allows technical writers and developers to be able to edit Markdown documents and tables in a formatted terminal view reducing the feedback loop on previewing inline markdown content and editing in place.
