A tmux-like and agent-aware terminal multiplexer.

herdr is an agent multiplexer for running multiple AI coding agents in workspaces, tabs, and panes inside of your existing terminal.

It keeps real terminal processes visible and notifies you if your agents are blocked, working, done, or idle, and also supports mouse splitting, tabs, panes, detach, reattach, and remote use over SSH as found in other terminal multiplexers.

Agent-heavy sessions have named sessions and this tools comes with more features such as session persistence across terminals, direct attach, socket API support, 20+ themes, and has direct integrations for tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Amp, and OpenCode.

herdr works best for developers that manage and use servers, and shells or use coding agents in parallel or need a tmux alternative without needing another terminal emulator.
