tele is a Telegram client designed to provide keyboard-driven messaging in the terminal with a text-based user interface (TUI).
It supports private chats, groups, channels, replies, reactions, edits, forwarding and mouse support. In addition, it also includes synced drafts, photo viewing, voice playback, video previews, GIFs and grouped media sending. It also has Inline photo support which uses Kitty graphics, and falls back to ANSI block graphics on terminals that don't support the Kitty protocol.
If you want to configure more of tele, you can customize the appearance via a range of themes, change the default disk cache size, photo quality and the history limit in the configuration file. This tool also has support for Vim key-bindings, and all the history is stored in a single SQLite file if you need to read your messages offline.
tele is ideal for those that already use Telegram, are used to the terminal and want a lightweight rich client without using the Telegram desktop app.
