xdgctl is a TUI for viewing and changing the default application for various file categories.
It searches for applications installed on the system that have a specific MIME type in the .desktop file with their unique identifier to determine the category of the application.
Valid categories such as browsers, text editors, image, audio, video players and document viewers are categorized and and xdgctl sets your chosen application as the default without using extra commands.
Linux or BSD desktop users who need to quickly set their chosen default preferred programs after installing multiple apps in the same category (multiple browsers, editors or audio / video players) would find xdgctl useful for this.
