mycli is a command-line client with auto-completion for MySQL with compatiblity with a variety of similar databases including MariaDB, Apache Doris, TiDB and Percona.
Its SQL prompt highlights multi-line statements and auto-suggests keywords, table names and columns according to the query being written as you type. It can be used with fzf to search through earlier statements and look up any frequently used queries and commands in the prompt history.
This tool outputs its results as a table, or it can save its result as a file via shell commands. mycli has experimental support for Polars dataframe transforms and plots directly in the prompt. This requires the ".|" operator after an SQL statement but before a Python expression and this operation applies these transformations before exporting results as Parquet files.
Developers, system administrators and DevOps professionals may find mycli useful for inspecting schemas, test queries and examine application data and integrates with SSH, Kubernetes and Hashicorp Vault.
