sdrtop is a TUI tool for inspecting radio signals and monitoring software-defined radio (SDR) hardware.
It supports HackRF One, RTL-SDR and PortaPack H4M in HackRF mode, plus tinySA for spectrum measurements. Spectrum and waterfall views shows signal peaks, noise levels and activity across frequencies, with markers, peak hold and band sweeps. Bluetooth analysis is supported, in particular long-range LE Coded and classic Bluetooth traffic.
The TUI in sdrtop shows four lab views that cover IQ imbalance, RF performance, timing and signal characteristics, including power and occupied bandwidth. It can record raw IQ samples from supported receivers in the SigMF format and marks dropped samples. Other features include an observer mode which is useful for showing the device identity and USB statistics if another program has the radio open, themes and customizable layouts.
This tool works best for RF engineers, amateur radio operators and hardware engineers to investigate interference, check receiver performance and troubleshoot weak or distorted signals.
