A TUI to inspect MCP traffic, like Wireshark for MCP.

mcpsnoop is a TUI that sits between an AI client (Claude Desktop, Cursor, Claude Code) and its MCP servers, showing every request and response live in your terminal. It's like Wireshark for MCP.

This tool wraps your server's launch command, runs your client normally, and shows the traffic in a second terminal. MCP calls are colour-coded, hung ones show PENDING with a timer, and you can filter by tool, status, or direction.

You can also replay any captured call against a fresh server copy, and inspect what client and server agreed on at connection. When a tool silently isn't called or a request hangs, you see the real exchange instead of guessing from logs.

mcpsnoop is for developers building or debugging MCP servers, or anyone wiring tools that speaks the MCP protocol.
