sofka is a Kubernetes manager in the terminal inspired by k9s and used for browsing the built-in resources and CRDs, that internally uses the Kubernetes API to interact with the cluster.
Its TUI is designed to be asynchronous, such that long running operations do not block the interface. Many of its features are that it can watch for cluster changes which can be backgrounded and supports both FluxCD, ArgoCD and Helm releases directly. Additionally, it supports bulk actions, background port forwarding and resource filtering, with most of the same as k9s.
The way sofka differentiates from k9s is its built in GitOps workflows and for debugging purposes it can explain and troubleshoot failures using cluster evidence and it can directly edit decoded secret values direct and re-encodes them after confirming the changes. sofka includes a timeline of object changes of a current session which can be used to roll back immediate changes.
SREs and platform engineers can use sofka as an alternative to k9s or the standard kubernetes commands, for clearer incident diagnosis and controlled production maintenance in case for quick roll backs or general cluster inspection.
